This cross connect system combines the advantages of a block-based system with frame mounted active equipment. This block-based format affords individual cable pair management not possible with an RJ patching field: the installer has the advantage of defining cross connections as either 1, 2, 4 or 5 pair at the installation stage rather than at the initial design stage.
